PVA Members Don Hammond & Tim Turner Retire

On November 1st, Don Hammond officially retired from PVA after 39 years of service to the Pittsford community. Throughout his years at PVA, Don has served in roles ranging from EMT to Dispatcher to Director of Operations, and all roles in between. Outside of PVA, Don was involved in the formation of Brighton Volunteer Ambulance, and served as an advanced life support provider with our partner-agency Southeast Quadrant MCCU (SEQ). His wife Kay continues to serve as a Dispatcher with PVA; his daughter and son-in-law serve as Paramedics with SEQ.

Tim Turner will also retire from EMS on November 1st. Tim has been with PVA for 10 years, working diligently in service as an EMT. Tim has also helped to develop our current driver training program, and served as a Director of the Board. In addition to his service with PVA, Tim volunteered as an EMT and a Director of the Board with Brighton Volunteer Ambulance.

While both men say they are content to quietly slip into the background, we would be remiss not to acknowledge the impact Don and Tim have had at PVA. Their dedication and guidance have helped PVA to become the agency it is today, and have helped to improve neighboring communities as well.

In celebration of their service, PVA and SEQ hosted a luncheon on November 1st in honor of Don and Tim. At Tim's request we enjoyed pizza and wings, followed by Don's preferred buttercream-frosted cake.

Don, Tim; we all wish you the best in your retirement. You’re always welcome to stop by for a visit!
