Coronavirus: Temporary Changes

Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance has been monitoring and preparing for the COVID19 pandemic. We are coordinating closely with our partners in government and emergency management, as well as our peers in the EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement services. Our Paramedics and EMTs remain prepared and focused on your emergency medical needs.

We strive to provide high-quality emergency services and community education and must strike an effective balance between our responsibility to serve the public need and our interest in community education. To ensure the greatest safety for the community and our responders, we must temporarily suspend our community outreach and training programs to align with official recommendations for social distancing. In addition, all tours and observations will be suspended and our station will be closed to all non-essential personnel. Our community programs will resume as soon as it is safe for us to do so.

Our loan closet will remain open to Pittsford residents at this time. Whenever possible our Paramedics and EMTs will assist you with walkers, wheelchairs, crutches and canes. To ensure our station remains safe for our ongoing emergency operations, we will meet you at our door to exchange loaned materials. We also ask that you limit your equipment requests to essential needs only. In addition, all current loans of equipment are extended until further notice. Please do not return your equipment at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary change may cause you. Should you have questions, we welcome you to call our station (385-2401), or email us at info@pittsfordambulance.org.

Respectfully,

Jonathan D. Smith, CCEMT-P
