Best Wishes as you continue your healthcare career as an NP, Victoria Ritzel!

On June 23rd, Victoria Ritzel worked her last road shift as an EMT with PVA, having made the difficult decision to “hang up her EMS stethoscope” to continue her healthcare career in Urgent Care as a Nurse Practitioner. While she will step off the ambulance, we're excited Victoria will continue to support our Health-Safety and Education initiatives.

Victoria started her EMS journey back in early 2012 as a dispatcher at Penfield Ambulance. In May 2013, she graduated from MCC’s EMT program, and from there worked as a volunteer EMT until 2015 when she got hired by Southeast Quadrant Mobile Critical Care Unit (SEQ) to be part of Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance staff.

Victoria was officially hired by Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance in 2016 after the merger with SEQ. From there she continued to work as an EMT, as well as PVA’s Health and Safety Officer throughout undergrad Nursing school. She became an RN in 2017 and continued to work at PVA throughout her Master’s program. In 2018, Victoria was awarded Basic Life Support Provider of the Year.

Victoria always worked hard to keep crews engaged on training topics during her down time, and shared knowledge garnered from her nursing employment with others. She set a great example for EMTs and Paramedics to strive toward, not only in patient care, but in all aspects and all operations related to pre-hospital care.

We wish you all the best with the next steps in your healthcare career, Victoria! We're proud to have worked with you over the past years, and we're excited to continue working with you in your role supporting PVA's Health-Safety and Education initiatives.
