Dan O'Connell was born and raised in Skaneateles, NY where he was an athlete, eagle scout, SAVES ambulance volunteer, and Borodino fire dept. volunteer. He graduated high school and took his EMT-B through SUNY Upstate in 2016 and moved to the Rochester area to pursue a degree in nursing from St. John Fisher College.
Dan began volunteering at Pittsford Ambulance in 2017 and was hired part-time in 2018. Dan became a professional firefighter for the Brighton Fire District and attended the NYS Fire Academy in 2019.
Dan recently transferred to the Ridge Road Fire District in 2021 and he is continuing his nursing education part-time while he works part-time at Pittsford Ambulance and Strong Memorial Hospital ED.
Dan enjoys spending his spare time with friends and family, mountain or road biking, and skiing. The amazing colleagues and culture at Pittsford Ambulance have greatly contributed to Dan's accomplishments outside of PVA.
